Questions
How long will it take to complete the work?
In most cases, production will take 2 to 4 weeks. However, if it takes longer to find the right reference photo, or if there are supply shortages on my end, it could take longer. This does not include shipping time, which is addressed below.
How do I choose the right photo?
A good reference photo should have:
- Well lit natural light
- Good angle
- No shadows
- Clear view of the eyes
- High resolution
A bad reference photo has:
- Bad angle
- Flash that impairs coloring
- Too dark
- Too blurry for details
How long will it take to ship?
Shipping time depends on your location and your country’s import processing time. Packages usually take 10 to 14 days to arrive to destinations in Europe, the UK, and North America.
Your drawings look so real. Did a machine or AI create them?
All drawings are 100% hand-crafted by the artist, Kate Csak. However, you can obtain mechanically-reproduced prints of your commission at additional cost.
What if I don’t like the finished portrait?
If you are not satisfied with the finished portrait, I will be happy to draw from another reference photo that we agree on.
How long will the portrait maintain its quality?
Pencil portraiture can be a lasting addition to your collection. These pieces, known for their intricate detail and classic appeal, require a thoughtful approach to preservation. To ensure that your pencil portrait maintains its pristine condition, you will be provided with recommended care techniques.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. I ship by first class international post to most countries.
International shipping is between €12 – 20 depending on the size of the portrait. Portraits are packaged in heavy duty cardboard postal tubes with a 5mm thickness to ensure safe delivery.
